To be honest, we found it a tad tedious—not the easy-peasy filter-picking and not even the boring manual prompting. This is some advanced stuff; it’s unlike anything we have experienced in an AI girlfriend app (except Character AI).

Step 1: Click the burger menu and choose ‘Create Chatbot.’

Step 2: Name your chatbot and describe it briefly.

This will show up in their profile. Think ‘Abraham Lincoln: the vampire hunter’ – yeah, we went there!

Important: What you name your chatbot can impact how it behaves. For instance, if you name your chatbot Donald Trump without clear guidelines, it will adopt his traits. Bigly.

But this is only the easy part. Now begins the grunt work.

Step 3: Write the greeting message the chatbot will send to anyone who starts a conversation and define the character’s personality.

This part needs some brain-wracking and good writing skills. Also, longer messages and descriptions consume more tokens*, so keep that in mind!

We won’t judge you if you use a little help from ChatGPT (we did!).

Tip: You can edit this greeting later if needed!

*Token budgets are counted as words and punctuation marks. For instance, ‘Hey there! How do I create an AI character on Spicychat?’ uses 13 tokens.

Step 4: Set the chatbot’s visibility: public, private, or unlisted, and generate a gravatar for the AI character.

An amazing thing about Spicychat AI is that you can go public with your custom chatbots. You can share it with all or just a select few, or keep it entirely to yourself.

Details of public chatbots can be seen by anyone on the platform. You can also earn while you create AI chatbots, but that’s a discussion for another section.

The gravatar can be semi-realistic or anime-style. Again, you need to describe it in words.

We used ChatGPT again (don’t @ us!) to define our vampire hunter’s appearance, attire, background, and expression and were super happy with the outcome.

Step 5: Choose the tags for your AI character, agree to Spicychat’s community guidelines, and save your masterpiece.

Longer Responses

The characters on Spicychat AI come with varying maximum token limits. Based on your subscription tier, you get anywhere from 2048 to 8192 tokens.

The default max response limit per message is 180 tokens, which increases to 300 for the higher tiers. This means longer messages and fewer chances of incomplete or truncated responses.

4K and 8K Context

Spicychat AI’s bots remember your conversations. Free users can have up to 2048 tokens remembered, while premium users can store 4096 to 8192 tokens.

Semantic Memory
